Generator Candid – Backup Power Installation

Before: This homeowner runs their business out of the house and was tired of holding their breath every time a summer storm rolled through. The generator was on site, but it wasn’t mounted, wired, or ready to actually carry the load when the power went out. Every outage meant lost work time, a warm house, and food at risk in the fridge.

What we did:

• Built and secured a sturdy elevated platform to support the generator and keep it clear of standing water.
• Ran new exterior conduit and wiring to tie the generator into the home’s electrical system safely and cleanly.​
• Installed the proper disconnects and protection so service and future maintenance stay straightforward and code compliant.​
• Tested the system under load and walked the homeowner through basic operation and what to expect during an outage.

After: Now, when the utility power drops, this home doesn’t miss a beat. The generator kicks on, keeps lights, refrigeration, internet, and A/C running, and lets the homeowner keep working like nothing happened. Instead of worrying about the next storm, they can look at the unit on the side of the house and know they’re covered.
